Endangered species are animals that are about to go extinct. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary extinct means to no longer exist. Those species die off because of clear cutting or pollution that destroys their habitats. Other animals are being killed because they are considered a "nuisance animal". In the 1900's sharks were hunted because they were attacking humans on the beach. Wolves were also poisoned, shot, and hunted because people found no use for wolves and they often killed farmers' livestock. Through education people have learned how to co-exist with wolves and sharks.
